About The Role

We at PEI Group are looking for a Marketing Manager - Events (12 month FTC) to join our welcoming, diverse, and growing team based here in London.

The role

You will have responsibility for marketing a portfolio of investment conferences. You will create and execute marketing plans, working with the central marketing team to create leads for sales teams and drive online bookings. You will be comfortable taking ownership of a portfolio and working with senior stakeholders across product, sales, and central marketing to hit lead & revenue targets.

The role covers all aspects of end-to-end campaign management including strategy, reporting and analysis, project management, stakeholder management, marketing planning and execution (email; website; digital marketing; data selections; targeting and build; copywriting; social media and direct mail production).

Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, you will join an established global marketing team and be involved in global marketing initiatives & projects.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategy

  • Set SMART objectives and growth targets using analysis including customer analysis, lead analysis, data analysis, gap/TAM analysis and campaign performance analysis.
  • Create plans to deliver growth for your event portfolio.
  • Monitor campaign results and adjust tactics where required to hit targets.

Project management

  • Ensure all planned marketing activity is being completed to deadline and to a high quality.
  • Clearly communicate marketing activity, deadlines and results with the rest of the project team.
  • Work with the central marketing team to execute marketing plans and campaigns.
  • Manage budgets, update trackers.
  • Attend regular meetings to update project team on upcoming activity and progress.
 
Stakeholder management
  • Work closely with the events team and senior management to get the best result for the events.
  • Report on numbers and manage questions about the portfolio with senior stakeholders.
  • Effectively communicate with senior stakeholders and resolve issues promptly.
  • Manage expectations of senior stakeholders.
  
Data and data acquisition
  • Build data universe selections for campaigns.
  • Identify gaps in the audience and build a data research strategy.
  •  Undertake analysis of all marketing campaigns and use insight to drive future campaigns and business growth.
  • Monitor weekly reports to identify potential growth opportunities or areas for concern.
  • Determine market trends, opportunities and gaps.
  • Gain an understanding of who key customers/target audiences are and what they are looking for.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest market developments to better communicate with the audience.

Marketing planning

  • Understand the marketing funnel and plan how to use different marketing channels to influence the funnel.
  • Come up with new ideas on how to improve marketing and campaign planning.
  • Prioritise tasks during peak periods.

Marketing execution

  • Benefit-led copywriting of marketing collateral - invites, brochures, emails, website, social, video.
  • Email execution using marketing automation tools.
  • Manage event websites.
  • Secure partnerships with media partners and associations.
  • Liaise with suppliers including printers and designers.

About You

Role Requirements

The ideal candidate will have experience in campaign management and driving paid delegate attendance within the conference and exhibition space. You will have a good understanding of how to reach professional audiences using channels such as email, PPC, social and digital marketing techniques. You will be comfortable communicating with senior stakeholders as this will be a core part of your role.

You will need to be a self-starter and be able to hit the ground running.  You will need to build an understanding of our markets and customers, as well as our internal systems and processes. You will need to be a confident marketer who has worked with large scale paid conferences and looking for the next step in your career. This is a great opportunity for you to make a difference to our growing portfolio of events across the globe.

The ideal candidate will have at least three years’ experience in a similar role, strong copy writing skills, experience, and a track record of planning and executing results driven marketing campaigns.

Working knowledge of project management software, CMS Systems, HTML, CRM systems and email campaign systems will be beneficial.
