You will cover areas that are business-critical for sustainable investors including net zero targets, climate adaptation, transition finance, ESG data and ratings, stewardship and regulation.
You will build and/or develop close relationships with the institutional investor community in the UK, Europe, North America and beyond. You will leverage your contacts book to produce high-quality, original copy, comprising news, analysis, features and diary items.

You will be passionate about sustainability and keen to play a key role in supporting the responsible investment community.
Ideally you will have experience of covering sustainable finance and a contact book within the industry. However, you could also have a track record of covering sustainability or climate topics and be keen to learn about their applications in the financial sector.
You will join a young, diverse and dynamic editorial team, which values knowledge-sharing, collaboration and commitment.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Plan, pitch and write news stories and analysis pieces for www.responsible-investor.com, resulting in the delivery of well-written, polished copy in line with the agreed brief and to deadline and word count
- Source original material and where possible exclusives, ensuring that relevant breaking stories are followed up promptly and with appropriate detail and context
- Write a minimum of three weekly pieces and contribute to RI’s weekly subscriber newsletter as required
- Closely collaborate with colleagues on the RI editorial team, sharing leads and ideas and providing feedback and support where appropriate
- Build and actively cultivate a network of leading industry contacts and sources in London and elsewhere
- Reach out to the market on a daily basis, reinforcing existing relationships and developing new contacts. This will include regular phone calls and face-to-face meetings to consolidate brand awareness and continuously build out the contacts book
- Participate in editorially driven podcasts and webinars, as and when the opportunity arises
- Represent the publication at Responsible Investor conferences, industry events and on business trips
- Contribute to the agenda for Responsible Investor events and moderate panels where appropriate
