About The Role

We at PEI Group are looking for an Investor Engagement Executive to join our welcoming, diverse, and growing team based here in one of our APAC offices (Tokyo, Hong Kong or Singapore). The successful candidate will be establishing and deepening relationships with Japanese institutional investors while reporting to Head of Investor Engagement - APAC.

Key responsibilities and expectations

  • Invite and confirm Japanese Institutional Investors (LPs) to PEI Group’s global event portfolio.
  • Primarily conduct 50 outbound engagements a day (Calls, e-mails & LinkedIn).
  • Onboard new institutional investors to our network hub & directory.
  • Build rapport & encourage engagement with Japanese institutional investors through in-person meetings.
  • Work with conference producers to confirm senior level investors as speakers to event programmes.
  • Completing Demos via screen share or in person of the Investor Network platform.
  • Help investors complete profiles and understand their needs to drive networking and knowledge-gathering opportunities.
  • Gather feedback on the value of the membership and on how we can improve our network experience.
  • Delivering against daily/weekly/monthly targets relating to outreach volumes, duration, and sales targets.
  • Assimilating key selling points during event briefing sessions and being able to deliver succinctly and compellingly these in verbal and written communication to relevant prospects.
  • Working closely with our internal production function to provide detailed and thorough feedback about prospects, pipelines, and progress on each event.
  • Working closely with our R&A team, providing updated information of investor appetite/activities where possible.
  • Assisting the marketing team with translation on an ad hoc basis.
  • Maintaining up to date in CRM records is essential, to ensure that all daily activity, contact with prospective customer and pipeline is fully recorded.
  • Keeping colleagues fully informed of your activities through formal a reporting procedure with your Sales Leader based in London.

About You

Experience, skills, and professional attributes: 

  • Working proficiency in Japanese & English
  • Experience and performance in customer service or client engagement (particularly with Investors) and a desire to take this to a more intellectual level
  • Experience communicating with C suite decision makers of large multi-national businesses, understanding their role in the market and their needs
  • Knowledge of industry events, private markets, fund managers and the LP GP capital raising dynamic is preferred
  • A strong understanding and focus on the right KPI measures – both financial and non-financial
  • A love of networking and relationship building and curiosity to learn about people and markets and the ability to tailor solutions to client needs
  • A strong work ethic and positive attitude toward wider business requirements
