Senior Research Manager, Investor Engagement

About The Role

We at PEI Group are looking for a Senior Research Manager, Investor Engagement to join our welcoming, diverse and growing team in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of researchers tasked with speaking to institutional investors globally to understand their private markets investment plans.

The role is results-driven, and the successful candidate will be tasked with setting and measuring key performance indicators, and putting measures in place to ensure the team delivers. The role demands high levels of self-motivation, the ability to lead by example, first-rate organisational skills, excellent verbal and written communication and an ability to confidently interact with senior investment executives globally.

The Senior Research Manager, Investor Engagement is primarily engaged in the following activities:

People management:

• Hiring and leading a team of researchers responsible for engaging (by phone, email and in person) with institutional investors globally.
• Developing, monitoring and reporting on team and individual key performance indicators that fit with wider business and product strategy.
• Leading by example and managing others to ensure that all key performance measures are delivered.
• Fostering and maintaining a motivated team in a results-driven environment.

Market interactions:

• Building and maintaining relationships with private markets investment professionals through regular phone, email and in person communications.
• Developing effective strategies to gather a greater volume of highly valuable insights from the global investment community.

  Content creation

• Populating PEI’s structured database with information sourced from investors.
• Writing high quality profiles of investors’ future investment plans.

 Key relationships:

• The Senior Research Manager, Investor Engagement will work with a team of research associates within the local office and will be expected to build relationships with colleagues in other offices. The Senior Research Manager, Investor Engagement will also need to build relationships with editorial, sales, events and marketing staff members who are also tasked with working with institutional investors.

Key success measures:

• The successful candidate will be responsible for setting, monitoring and achieving key success measures for the team.
• These measures will include number of outbound calls/emails made and number / quality of successful interactions where proprietary information is sourced.
• The successful candidate will also measure customer appreciation for the content created.

• Significant professional experience gained in a research environment in a similar complex organisation.
• Experience in managing teams to deliver against targets.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High levels of self-motivation and an ability to motivate and manage others.
• The ability or willingness to learn the dynamics of the private markets industry to have informed conversations with its participants.
• An inquisitive nature and a proactive, methodological and enthusiastic approach to work.
• Working knowledge of financial markets preferably within the private markets asset classes.
